New Delhi: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has ordered blocking 35 YouTube channels and two websites that run anti-Indian propaganda and spread fake news “coordinatedly”.
The YouTube website and channel are operated from Pakistan, Secretary I & B APURVA Chandra told a press conference on Friday.
Indian intelligence agencies greatly monitor social media accounts and this website and mark them to service for immediate action, he added.
“Vide Five separate orders issued based on the rules of 16 Information Technology (Broker Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Codes), 2021, the Ministry has ordered to block this Pakistan-based account and social media website,” said the ministry in a statement.
Orders were issued on Thursday.
