PANAJI: With the selection of a quick assembly approach, the state government has set December 31 as its target to complete recruitment in all departments and autonomous bodies.
In June, Head of Minister of Pramod Sawant said that the state government would fill 10,000 jobs in various departments for the next six months.
On Thursday, he will hold a meeting with all Department Heads (HODs) and manage the director of corporate, institutions and councils at the Secretariat.
A senior official said that the state government expects a model behavior model to take effect at any time after December, and therefore has decided that the recruitment must be completed before that.
He said that because the code can take effect anytime (after December), the government has decided to accelerate recruitment and project solving.
A political observer said that it was necessary for the minister’s chairman to complete whatever task he had in his hand before the general election, it could be a boomerang to the government because many people aspired to the work advertised by the government.
The official said that the minister’s chairman wanted to know the status of how many posts advertised and how many were filled.
He also wants to know when new posts will be advertised and the timeline to complete recruitment.
In the next few weeks, more work will be advertised, he added.
Thursday’s meeting, in addition to discussing recruitment that must be done before December 31, will also touch the reform, initiative, and new scheme that will be launched or implemented before the end of the year.
The meeting will also discuss new projects to be inaugurated before that date.
The minister’s chairman has been seeking details about the recruitment scheduled departments, which have been given a certain format in which they must provide details relating to the discussion that will be held at the meeting.
The election of the State Assembly is scheduled for early next year.
