Government hospital gets an ECMO machine, oxygen generator

Coimbatore: District recorded 407 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the total case to 2,22,632.
With 298 people out, the number of active cases fell to 3.301.
The total number of people discarded reached 2.17,250, leaving the recovery rate at 97.5%.
With five deaths recorded, the number rose to 2,081.
That day also saw the Minister of Food Kakkarapani along with the collector G S Serseran checked Ward Pediatric Covid-19 at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.
He also inaugurated an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation machine (ECMO) worth Rs 30 Lakh and a 400-liter oxygen generator worth Rs 75 lakh at CMC.
This generator will be able to provide oxygen to everyone who comes with difficulty breathing into an emergency ward.
Sakkarapanis noted that Ward Pediatric Covid-19 has 30 beds of intensive care units, 100 beds with oxygen and 370 ordinary beds for children.
ESI Hospital also has 100 intensive care units, 70 oxygen beds and 170 ordinary beds.
The Minister also inaugurated the covid sequalae clinic in the CMC program and vaccination for pregnant women.
The hospital said they had vaccinated 130 breastfeeding women.
The Covid Sequelae clinic is equipped with doctors, counselors, physiotherapists and staff members.
It functions from 7:30 a.m.
until noon, open to people who suffer from the recovery complications of post covid-19 such as high blood sugar levels, blood pressure, breathing difficulties, less appetite, loss of aroma and flavor, weight loss and side effects steroid.
