Bengaluru: Nearly 21% of the country’s population has issued Ayushman Bharat-Arogya Karnataka (AB-Ark) cards, making them eligible for care under co-branded insurance schemes that are very ambitious from the central and state governments, the latest numbers of health .

21 other Lakh people are registered based on their Aadhaar card when the scheme is introduced.
Officials said more than 90% of the Aadhaar-based beneficiaries came from the BPL family.
The target of the Ministry of Health is to cover 1.2 Crore BPL and 19 lakh al family under the scheme.
“Even if we consider four people in the family, we must discuss 5.3 crores.
In that sense, the country has reached coverage of almost 28%,” the official said.
Data with Suvarna Arogya Surakha Trust (SEST), the wings of the AB-Ark Health scheme, showed 19.5 lakh patients had been treated under the scheme in the last three years.

They include all district and taluk hospitals, government medical colleges, primary health centers, public health centers, residents of Seven Sindhu, Bangalore-One, Karnataka – one center, Bapuji Seva Kendras, among others.

In 2018, a total of 6.1 lakh card was issued, followed by the 91.4 lakh card in 2019.

“We will launch a campaign from October 2 to increase Ab-Ark registration,” he said.
AB-Ark card holders from the BPL family can take advantage of free health care services to RS 5 lakh per year, while the APL family is eligible to get assistance of up to 30% of package packages up to Rs 1.5 lakh per family per year.
If public health institutions have infrastructure to treat diseases, patients will be treated at the same hospital.
If the hospital cannot, the patient must be referred to a private hospital or confirm the government and the maintenance costs will be borne in the scheme.
In an emergency, patients can go directly to government or personal hospitals without reference.
