Patna: Noting the elimination of political thinking and the philosophy of Jayaprakash Narayan and Ram Manohar Lohia from the Postgraduate Syllabus of JAI Prakash University (JPU) based in Chhapra, the state government has begun steps to take corrective steps.
Both the minister of chairman, Kumar Nitish, and Minister of Education, Vijay Kumar Choudhary, said that the shock of the “not justified” action on Thursday.
Governor-cum-chancellor, Phagu Chauhan, also recognizes “unhealthy” developments and promises to take corrective steps.
Choudhary told this newspaper that the principal of additional education school, Sanjay Kumar, and the Director of Higher Education, Rekha Kumari, had asked the representative of Chancellor and the JPU Registrar to clarify this problem.
“If they fail to submit satisfactory clarification, they will be called to the department and told to provide a detailed incident background,” he added.
The minister shows that the removal of text related to the thinking of national leaders is not only inappropriate, but also to the norms and procedures set.
He also claimed, “Is there a new regulation, law or syllabus is implemented by the University only after his approval by the Bihar and Governor’s Higher Education Board.
But this norm has been openly violated by the Prosecutor and his legal body.” Meanwhile, Choudhary directed the department Education to collect all information about syllable changes in various courses in recent years from all universities.
“If there is a difference, the state government will immediately take action,” he said.
Several years ago the Salabi of all PG courses running in various universities was revised considering the choice-based credit system by the committee of experts formed by the Governor’s Secretariat.
Universities are then authorized to make several changes in the uniform silici according to local requirements.
As far as this case, academics show that the university level syllabus committee acts arbitrarily and removes not only the texts related to JP and Lohia, but also ideas and thought of great freedom and social reformers such as Bal Gangadhar Tilak, King Ram Mohan Roy, and Dairanand Saraswati.
