T’puram / Palackad: The opposition attacked the government on Tuesday which accused the increase in the high incidence of police quoting a recent arrest of members of the tribal community in attapadi.
But, CM Vijayan threw his weight behind the police who confirmed the role of the troops in controlling Pandemic and Flood 2018.
Looking for leave for the delay movement, Mannarkkad Mla N Shamsudheen said the arrest of a tribe of Choriyamooppan tribe and his son Murugan and his son by the police on Sunday has crossed all restrictions in a way treated by community members.
He said the police reached their home at 6 am, creating a terrorist atmosphere and Murugan’s son.
Vijayan said this problem related to the conflict between two families and police actions was experienced to enforce the supremacy of law and ensure legal and order maintenance.
He then registered many examples, including the role played by the police for 2018 ongoing floods and pandemics, to explain how the police had become a pro-people under the LDF government.
CM added that those who opposed the police were people who hoped that the law supremacy would not apply in the state.
“Anarchists, extremists and communal powers intentionally become part of this.
Come with the wrong but colorful story of the police every day has become a trend now,” he said.
The opposition leader VD Satheesan said it was unfortunate that CM confirmed the police, without going to the services of each incident.
He said that whatever the police gave in writing to CM, regarding the incident, was not true.
He said that Murugan, who had been forcibly arrested by the big team on Sunday, had approached the police twice on August 3 and 6 with complaints of attacks on his wife.
But, the police did nothing.
But two days later, in another complaint, the large police team created Havoc to arrest him and his father.
“The police slapped the face of the small son of Murugan, tore his dress.
Is this a friendly way of people who operate in the state,” asked, adding that the police associated with the land mafia, against who Murugan, an activist, protested.
Sathean said the state was placed seventh when it comes to atrocities against SC and ST, and is the only state of the south that puts the numbers between the 10 states in the list.
The probe began in the attack on tribal chiefs, the son of the Deputy Branch of Police C Singararan has begun to investigate the use of improper power by Sholayur police in capturing Choriya MooPpan and Murugan at the early hours, per direction from the police district supervisor R Viswanathan.
The Crime DSP branch collected a statement from Rajeev, Murugan’s son who was 17 years old, and his mother Rami.
Rajeev was injured during the police action and was received at Kothirhara Tribal Special Hospital.
DSP visited the scene too and took a statement from Tribeseople.
