Government Peek 5-6 Fiscal Selling: DIPA Secretary

New Delhi: This center believes that it will complete the privatization of 5 to 6 companies managed by the government in the current fiscal year and aims to surrender Air India (AI) to Tatas in December, a top official said on Wednesday.
“We might see after 19 years maybe 5-6 privatization this year itself.
Not only Indian air but also BPCL in the thorough testing stage,” Department of Investment and Management of Public Assets (Depam) Secretary Tuhin Kanta Pandey told the Summit organized by the industry Cii lobby.
He also said financial offers can be made for staterun companies such as BEML, Indian shipping company, Pawan Hans, Central Electronics, Neelachal Ispat Nigam in January and transactions can be wrapped in the current financial year ending in March.
In October, the government completed the privatization of Indian water that had worked for the past 20 years.
Tata Group wins offers and airlines, nationalized in 1953, returned to the fold.
“Our whole focus is how to give up as soon as possible …
We tried to target it in December,” Pandey said, adding that all the agreements were all.
Secretary DIPA also said that the government worked hard for the registration of insurance giants managed by the government and planned for the fourth quarter.
“This is a large remaining financial institution so far from the market …
again for the capital market, it will be a huge event in the first quarter of next year, I mean the last quarter of this financial year,” Pandey said.
Speaking of the same panel discussion, Secretary of the Department of Economics (DEA) Ajay Seth said economic growth must come from a good cycle of private investment with the private sector which has a larger economic role, while the role of the government will become a facilitator.
