Ranchi: The State Education Department has completed the reduced syllabus for class I for the XII class of government school students for the academic session of 2021-22 due to covid pandemics.
The new syllabus prepared by the Jharkhand Board for education research and training has reduced the study material of almost 25%.
Many chapters in various subjects have been removed while some sub-sections of the article have been dropped.
For example, in a class IX syllabus for Hindi, some chapters have been removed but the grammar section has remained intact.
Some class IX and X mathematical sub-parts have also been dropped.
In the junior class, a long story and that is difficult to read and understood it has been removed.
The Board source says the topic that has been taught before or will be taken in the next class has been deleted.
The subject parts “no need” have also been restricted.
The reduction in syllabus came after study disruption in government schools during the current academic session because of a pandemic.
So far, the regular class for students in class I to class VIII has not happened even though more than a third session is complete.
However, classes for class IX students to XII are taking place in the midst of restrictions since the beginning of August.
Last year the syllabus was reduced by 40%.
Commenting on this problem, the Deputy Director of Regional (Education) of AV Bilung said, “The revised syllabus will be circulated among schools.
The study and related activities will be carried out in accordance with new courses.” It can be stated here that the department will hold medium-term examinations on In November and December while the annual examination will be conducted in March and April.
The examination that will be held at the end of the calendar year will consist of objective type questions.
Educational Secretary Rajesh Sharma previously said that if the annual examination scheduled for March or April did not occur because Covid, the test results held in November would be the basis for determining student performance.
Meanwhile, the government also conducted a monthly test in all schools.
A school principal said, “Monthly exam records can also be the basis of future assessment but there are no clear instructions from the government in this matter.”
