Coimbatore: Members of the Wealth Protection Committee of the Mineral Wealth Valley Thadagam on Saturday submitted a complaint with GS Sameran collectors to take action against several employees of the Department of Revenue and Mine, which helped the owner of the brick combustion unit indulgence in the mining of immoral red land.
The committee has nested complaints with revenue officials on Wednesday about the owner of the brick kiln unit using earthmovers to the land level on the disputed site in the Thadagam Valley to hide mine levels, the Committee’s coordinator said the committee said.
“Although it provides proof of sites where mining is carried out for more than 30 feet and EardMover is used to raise land, officials concerned conduct surveys on different sites and provide reports to collectors who say there is no such violation,” he said.
Mobers from the Committee submitted video and photos to collectors and seeks actions against officials to support violators.
A total of 186 kiln brick units were closed in the Thadagam area after the National Green Tribunal (NGT) took Suo Motu’s awareness of the exploitation of natural resources.
The level of damage caused by the unit is being accessed by the special committee formed by the South Zone NGT.
“Officials should not allow earthmover on the disputed site.
Instead of stopping such illegal actions, they hang out with violators, which will disburse the investigation carried out by NGT,” Ganesh added.
