New Delhi: The government is set to increase funds under the incentive scheme (PLI) related to production for solar cells and domestic modules to RS 24,000 crore from the existing 4,500 crore Rs to make Indian exporting countries.
Power and New Energy Minister & Renewable R K Singh said the current solar module manufacturing capacity in this country is 8,800mW, while solar cell production capacity is 2,500mW.
In April, the cabinet has approved the PLI 4,500 crore scheme for solar modules.
This scheme aims to add a production capacity of 10,000 MW integrated solar modules which require the current 17,200 crore RS investment at this time.
With an increase in allocation, investment, and the production capacity planned under the PLI scheme will increase.
