Patna: Governor-Cum-Chakelir Chakau on Thursday appointed eight representatives of Chancellor (VC) and PRO-VCS from various universities in the state after consulting Minister Nitish Kumar.
This promise was made from the panel delivered by the search committee of three members after interaction with the elected applicant last month.
According to Raj Bhavan notices, former Principal of Patna Science College, K Sinha, has been appointed VC from Nalanda Open University.
The post has been lying empty after leaving H n Prasad in November last year.
On the other hand, Shyama Roy, Principal J D Women’s, now is VC from Munger University.
The post fell empty after the founder of VC, Ranjit Kumar Verma, completed a three-year term in March.
PRO-VC Purnea University, Raj Nath Yadava, has made VC.
The office has been lying empty since the founders of VC, Rajesh Singh, resigned in September last year.
In addition, Mohd Quddus, a teacher for college trade, art and science, has been appointed VC from the University of Arab and Persian Maulana Mazharul Haque.
The post lay empty after leaving Khalid Mirza a few months ago.
As many as four universities also got new pro-vc.
These include Rajiv Kumar Mallik (Patliputra University), Jawahar Lal (Munner University), C S Chaudhary (Veer Kunwar Singh University), and Siddharth Shankar Singh (University of Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit).
