PANAJI: Pillai Governor Pillai on Friday called the Goa Legislative Assembly session two days from October 18.
This might be the last session before the polling status.
The selection of assembly is scheduled for early next year.
The state government must make a controversial decision on the controversial bill of Goa Bhumiputra Adhikarini, 2021.
About 150 suggestions have been received from the public after the head of the Minister of Pramod Sawant find feedback on the bill.
Sawant has admitted the demands of several people and decided to drop the word Bhumiputra from the bill.
He said that the bill would be reintroduced in the winter session.
This session will be the last opportunity for the opposition to corner treasury bench before going to do polls.
Opposition tends to corner the state government on various important problems that disturb the country.
Problems that tend to be debated in the winter session include mislade Covid, poor connectivity for online classes, resumption of mining, Mhadei material, coal handling, three linear projects in Mollem, multiple tracking, among others.
During the last assembly session when the opposition had demanded a 10-day monsun session from the legislative meeting at the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting, the government was firm at three days due to a pandemic but convincing the opposition to call the Assembly in October.
