Overcoming the meeting, Chairman of the Minister of Jai Ram Thakur said the Institute was one of the leading universities in agricultural research and education in the countries of the Himalayas in the country.
He said that around 90 percent of the Himachal Pradesh population lived in rural areas with agriculture as their main job, thus research in agriculture became increasingly important in strengthening the country’s economy.
