Governor of Punjab to continue as an administrator of Chandigarh: MHA

New Delhi: The Interior Ministry has clarified that the government did not have a plan to divest the governor of Punjab his responsibility as a Chandigarh administrator.
Clarification came in the middle of a tweet by Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal.
Badal had tweeting about his meeting with the homeland Minister Amit Shah and said that he had urged Shah to review Mha’s decision to appoint a full administrator for Chandigarh.
Responding to MHA clarified that the trade union government did not make a decision to let go of the Governor of Punjab his responsibility as the administrator of Chandigarh and there was no proposal under contemplation.
According to the MHA release, Badal has not raised this problem with the Ministry of Home Department.
Badal said that Chandigarh was an inseparable part of the punjab and had to be transferred to the old country as soon as possible.
