HYDERABAD: The Tribal Reservation Porata Samithi (TRPS) has urged Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan to visit Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Adilabad district and use her good offices to improve medical facilities for the poor Tribal patients in the hospital.
In a statement on Wednesday, TRPS founder-president and former MLC S Ramulu Naik sought to bring to the notice of Tamilisai Soundararajan the non-availability of sufficient strength of specialist doctors, nurses and other supporting staff.
The non-functioning of some of the medical equipment in the hospital has become a curse to the patients especially Tribals who mostly use this facility.
There is a shortage of beds and isolation wards.
Stating that earlier also he had written a letter to the Governor on this issue, Ramulu Naik sought the intervention of Tamilisai Soundarajan to improve the facilities in RIMS.
“Owners of private ambulances are exploiting the Tribals due to non-availability of government ambulances.
There is a shortage of oxygen supplies too.
Totally, the situation needs urgent focus of the government in RIMS as poor Tribals have been left to their fate,” he said.
