Govt caps Commerce Perimeter on oxygen concentrators in 70 Percent

NEW DELHI: The medication cost regulator National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) invoked exceptional powers under Para 19 to limit the transaction perimeter on oxygen concentrators up to 70 percent on cost to distributor amount.
The ruler totaled Para 19 in public attention and stated that the margin now ranges up to 198 percent.
“In light of the extraordinary conditions arising as a result of this Covid pandemic which has led to recent volatility at Maximum Retail Prices (MRP) of oxygen concentratorsthat the government has chosen to step in to control the cost of oxygen concentrators.
According to data gathered by the authorities, margin in the amount of distributor now ranges up to 198 percent.
By obeying exceptional forces under Para 19 of the DPCO, 2013, at larger public attention, NPPA has restricted the transaction margin around 70 percent on Cost to Distributor (PTD) degree on oxygen concentrators…,” stated ministry of fertilizers and chemicals in a declaration.
The regulator has asked the producers and importers of oxygen concentrators to record revised MRP over three days after taking into consideration the revised margins informed by NPPA.
The revised MRPs will soon be set up at the public domain in a weekthe regulator stated.
