New Delhi: The seven Indian sailors on the cargo ships marked by the Arab Emirates confiscated by Houthi from Hodeidah Port in Yemen Safe and the government seeks to secure their initial release, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Tuesday.
Arindam Bagchi, Ministry spokesman, said India had monitored the development strictly after the UAE ship’s supplies by Houthi at 2.
“We also understand from companies and other sources that are safe for all members of the Indian crew.
The Government of India does all efforts to secure Their initial release, “Bagchi said.
Houthi rebels have a strong presence in some parts of Yemen.
“We relate to companies that operate the ship and have been told that of 11 crew members on the ship, seven came from India,” Bagchi said while replying to media requests about this problem.
“We urge Houthi to ensure the safety and welfare of the crew members and release them.
India is concerned with intensification of recent battles in Yemen and hoping that all parties will come to the negotiating table to find a peaceful resolution to find the peaceful resolution of Yemen’s problem,” he added.
