Mumbai: With work-from-home (WFH) continues for employees in the information technology sector, Maharashtra is considering creating ‘nodal center’ on shared workspace lines in small cities and cities, from where the professional devices Soft can work each company, a minister said.
The state, which is home to the IT hub in Pune and also has the presence of companies in other pockets such as Mumbai, Nagpur and Nashik, has invited suggestions from the industry for ‘inclusive IT policy’, State Minister Patil Satej has said.
Almost all IT staff have been in WFH mode since the beginning of the pandemic on March 2020 and the company has said that the future will have a ‘hybrid model’ where some employees continue to work from the office.
Much of the work carried out by IT professionals is for critical sectors such as finance, where the problem of privacy and confidentiality of important data also imposes some professionals to continue working from the office even during locking.
“We also plan to start nodal centers that are well equipped where employees can come and work for their respective companies.
All ideas are welcome in this matter,” said Patil in Tweet on Monday, responding to the suggestions made by billionaire Anand Deshpande, Chair of the Founder of the Persistent Pune System.
Big cities, including those in the state, have a workspace that works together as in front of a pandemic which usually helps workers from various companies and sectors to help from special space.
Patil said the government tried his best to promote it in Tier-2 and -3 cities.
He appealed to the Nasscom industrial lobby group and Pune (SEAP) software export association to advance with the help of making a wise district database suggested by Deshpande.
“Mumbai and Pune have led in the IT sector and has been saturated because of migration to these cities.” We now want to take this progress to Tier 2 and 3 cities such as Nagpur, Satara, Amaravati, Latur, Naning and others by providing incentives for the industry.
