NEW DELHI: In a move that’s expected to have a far reaching effect and leaves space for a very first of its type single-window center, the Centrehas setup cross handicap early intervention centers (EICs) to offer advice and expert support to kids, particularly those around 6 decades old with risk of handicap, delayed growth and to people who have disabilities.
The section of empowerment of individuals with disabilities (DEPwD) under the ministry of social justice and empowerment, by those EICs, attempts to remove or lessen the intensity of disabilities from an early stage so kids could achieve their whole potential.To start with, EICs are set up in seven federal institutes working on various disabilities and seven publication regional centers across states because a pilot project which is going to be scaled up .
