Govt Survey in the Mandya District identified 4,377 children who lacked nutrition

Mandya: A total of 4,377 children suffer from malnutrition in the Mandya district and from them, 144 children under six years are very malnourished, revealing a recent survey conducted by the Department of Women’s Welfare and Children.

According to a survey report, 62 boys and 82 girls were found less severe, while 2,100 boys and 2,277 girls were found to have an average weight.
According to the report, children who are found in weight deficiency suffer from severe malnutrition and children with an average weight have moderate malnutrition.
The district has 1.04.145 children under six years and among them 54,547 are boys and 49,598 are girls.
In accordance with the survey, 99,624 children without malnutrition, 4,377 malnourished and 144 was very lacking in nutrition.
The authorities have classified children who lack nutrition into two categories – 0 to 3 years and 3 years to 6 years.
According to the report, 26 boys and 39 girls under three years are very malnourished while 1,112 boys and 1,220 girls between 3 years and 6 years are quite malnourished.
Likewise, between 3 years and 6 years, 36 boys and 43 girls suffered severe malnutrition and 988 boys and 1,057 girls suffer from moderate malnutrition.
The Department of Women and Deputy Deputy of the Director of Director S Rajamurthy said parents must pay more attention to their children’s health and their development.

The cause of malnutrition was diagnosed with helping these children gain weight, Divya Prabhu GRJ, Mandya CEO Zilla Panchayat told toi.
If malnutrition is for reasons such as disease, or the reason for generations, proper health care is provided and followed up.
“At the Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences, we have established a Nutrition Rehabilitation Center (NRC) with 20 beds.
About 40 children can be treated here.
Parents are allowed to stay here with children.
