Mandya: A total of 4,377 children suffer from malnutrition in the Mandya district and from them, 144 children under six years are very malnourished, revealing a recent survey conducted by the Department of Women’s Welfare and Children.

The authorities have classified children who lack nutrition into two categories – 0 to 3 years and 3 years to 6 years.
According to the report, 26 boys and 39 girls under three years are very malnourished while 1,112 boys and 1,220 girls between 3 years and 6 years are quite malnourished.
Likewise, between 3 years and 6 years, 36 boys and 43 girls suffered severe malnutrition and 988 boys and 1,057 girls suffer from moderate malnutrition.
