Chennai: Greater Chennai Corporation on Tuesday approved funds while Rs 10 Lakh each to 15 zones to immediately repair all holes.
The corporate step follows the death of a software engineer because of the crater at Anna Salai on Monday.
The Civic body also directs zon engineers to check all the way with the crater and improve them within a week.
They were told to the location of the barricade where the storm waterways or metrowater work were underway.
All excavations must be stopped and concrete can be placed only at the location where the road has been ground and dry the location excavated, said the body of the civic.
“Wherever the work is finished, the road must be leveled.
We will do an inspection every day,” said a corporate senior official to Ti.
Chief Engineer (General) Rajendiran said Zon officials were asked to find out how the hole was formed.

Companies that lay down cables must obtain permission from the civil body and pay the amount for road cutting restoration, which is usually used for filling work or to deliver the road.
The Civic body has around Rs 5 Crore at this fund.
