Greater Noida: After Noida, the larger Noida Authority has now decided to replace the city street lights with LEDs.
About 54,000 street lights will be replaced based on this plan, officials said, adding this step is expected to reduce energy consumption by 50%.
Authority on Tuesday was allocated a tender RS 48.64 Crore to Surya Roshni Limited and the work is expected to begin in the phase within one month completing the tender formality from the date of signing the document.
While tenders are given for seven years – which includes operations and maintenance – LED lights installation work is expected to be completed in 2022, officials said.
“We have an estimate of Rs 75 Crore for installing LED lights across Greater Noida.
About 54,000 will be installed at first,” Salil Yadav, Deputy General Manager, Gnida, said.
CEO Narendra Bhoohan said the allocated tender would change the modality of LED installations for the future in the state “because it not only included rational offer prices, but also operations and maintenance for seven years”.
