Chennai: Police on Monday arrested Grandpa, Uncle and sister of a seven-year-old girl who was sexually attacked at their residence near Madipakkam.
The people attacked the child on a different occasion.
The police said the 62-year-old grandfather decided to bring his grandchildren to his house when his daughter was busy with work while children had an online class.
Claiming helping his daughter, he said he would take him to his residence.
The 42-year-old man’s son also lives with him.
On August 2, while his grandson slept next to him, he made sexual abuse.
Worried, the child went to find his uncle to ask for help.
However, with the pretext of calming him, his uncle was too behavior with him.
A fearful child then turned to his 16-year-old brother, who was also said to have sexual abuse.
On Sunday, the girl came to visit her children.
At this time, his daughter fell ill and could not walk.
He took the girl to the hospital where the child told his trials.
Mother submitted a complaint with the All-Women Madipakkam police.
The case was listed under the Pocso and the police sent the girl to the Institute of Child Health and hospitals for children, where the doctor confirmed that he was sexually attacked.
The child recovered.
Grandpa and Uncle were sent to prisons while brothers were sent to the correctional facility.
According to SCRB data, there are 302 cases listed in Chennai under ACT Pocso in 2017 and 2018 (up to November 11).
Data shows that 99.4% of people ordered for rape based on the law are known by the victims.
