Pune: A great fire broke out in one of the laboratories at the Institute of Education and Research in India (IISER) Pune Maharashtra on Friday, where a student suffered a minor injury, officials said.
Blaze erupted around 12:15 a.m., the Head of the Pune Municipal Corporation Fire Department, said Prashant Ranpise.
“We have sent water tankers to the Institute and the work watering on the heat,” he said.
An Iiser official, located in the Pashan area in the city, said that the fire broke out in one of the laboratories in the main building chemistry department.
“The reason behind the fire is unknown and firefighting personnel work to control it,” he said.
There were no victims reported and no one was trapped inside.
But a student suffered a small burn in the incident, he added.
