LOS ANGELES: With unprotected and dry hot weather that towered above many US and Western Canada on Sunday, a very large bootleg fire in Oregon grew again and authorities ordered new evacuation.
Bootleg, the largest of 80 major fires are now active in the US, spread overnight from 274,000 hectares to 290,000 hectares – three times the size of the Detroit Metropolis, officials said.
About 2,000 people must be evacuated, with more follows on Sundays.
Satellite imagery from the National Weather Service shows large feathers of smoke jumping from Bootleg, in South Oregon, to the Canadian border, hundreds of miles to the northeast.
However, with firefighters made progress on the west side of Bootleg, overall the detention of fire more than threefold, up to 22 percent.
Heavy winds and lightning storms that are widespread remain a serious threat.
The fire department blamed a lightning strike for a fast growing fire on the Lake Tahoe Tourist California.
What is called Tamarack Fire, furnished by strong winds, has grown explosively to more than 20,000 hectares, with zero containment so far.
The closest small community of Markleeville, on the Nevada border, has been evacuated.

The National Interagency Fire Center said the prospect was for “very hot, dry and unstable conditions in the interior of the Pacific Northwest, North Rocky and the plains to North Minnesota.” It was said that nearly 20,000 firefighters and supporting personnel struggled to contain a raging fire in Western countries, with more than 2.5 million hectares had been burned this year.
Meanwhile, firefighters in Canada, meanwhile, continued to fight dozens of Blaz, including around 20 new in British Columbia province and around 15 new in the Northwest Ontario Province.
The authorities in the province said that a fire extinguisher had died in the hospital “emergency medical” that was not determined.
