Greater Noida: Hundreds of farmers who have waited more than a decade to regain eternal land they claim wrongly acquired by the large Noida Industrial Development Authority (Gnida) tend to get help for the next few months.
Heed the demand for farmers at an event at Greater Noida on Wednesday, Chairman of the Yogi Adityanath Minister said the villagers identified by the authorities would soon get a legal degree on their plot.
In January 2015, the upper government had approved eternal land rentals obtained in 2006-07.
Officials say 1,451 farmers who want their land have been identified for rent so far.
There were 741 other people whose claims were examined.
It was more than 14 years ago that the hectare of land was obtained from thousands of farmers for the development of Greater Noida.
Some of them are perennial land, which, said farmers, should not be taken by Gnida for industrial purposes.
In violence protests starting from the acquisition of land that was “wrong” by more than 2,100 farmers in 44 villages, the state government announced in 2010 that the plot would be rented back and villagers also did not need to pay stamp assignments.
But part of the villagers accused the deviation in the part of Gnida officials later.
They claim that some of the land that must be leased has been transferred illegally on behalf of “outsiders”.
Also accused that certain villagers close to officials authority were given a larger land for small plots obtained from them.
The villagers submitted several complaints to the authority and even moved Allahabad High Court.
In June 2017, a special investigation team was formed under the CEO of the Yamuna Expressway Industry Development Authority (Yeida) to investigate alleged irregularities.
This mandate is also to check the situation where eternal land is obtained from 2007 and so on.
