Greater Noida: A 20-year-old woman who worked with Motherson died and four of her colleagues was injured when the office bus taught them from Hapur to reach the divider near Tilaapta in Greater Noida and upside down on Saturday morning.
Bus – up16t / 4198 – transported several 30 female staff to the company’s office in sector 84 when an accident lasted around 5.30 in the morning.
The police said the driver, who fled after the accident, might have fallen asleep and failed to control the vehicle that moved at high speed.
When the bus is upside down and occupies most of the road 130 meters, the traffic remains disturbed for almost two hours.
The woman who died was identified as Teena Sharma, a resident of Dhaulana in Hapur.
Kiran’s colleague, who was in the seat in front of theaa, claimed the bus crashed into the divider after being hit by a truck from behind.
Police, however, put it aside.
“Teena sat near the window.
His head might hit against the road when the bus was upside down,” Kiran said.
Ajay Kumar, Police Station Surajpur, said the preliminary investigation had revealed that the driver was asleep.
“No complaints have been received so far,” he said.
