The police department and the civil body have gathered to plan the first public space for residents in Gujarat.
Shamsher Singh City Police Commissioner said that he had proposed a plan to Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC).
“Vadodara is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the state and citizens here like to enjoy the rate of their lives.
These cities must have a good public space where people can relax and spend quality time,” said Singh.
“The amount of open space and the reason shrank in the city.
So, we thought of having some public spaces where no vehicle was allowed for a few hours that day.
People can take a walk inside, children can play and children can hang- Out, “Singh said to Ti.
He added that the area around the University of M and Majibauug was the perfect place to develop such public spaces.
“This area is popular among Barodians, especially young children because university hostels and students are in the vicinity.
The Police Department and VMC will develop a joint plan to identify more spots.
We will provide police patrols to ensure that the hanger zone OUT like it is safe for women besides blocking traffic movements.

When contacted, Mayor Keyur Rokadia said, “We have discussed plans after a meeting with the Police Commissioner.
The concept of having a public place in the midst of all the urban development is very good and VMC will do it.
I suggest, Lake Sursagar is a great place to develop a public place.”
