Greens cries breaking high emissions from CSTP

Chandrapur: The largest stack (Chimney) of Chandrapur Super Thermal Power Station (CSTP) continues to emit black smoke for the second day in a row on Sunday.
Environmental lovers from the city have filed complaints to regional officers of the Maharashtra pollution control board (MPCB) in this relationship.
Vested a similar black smoke look up from the same chimney on Saturday.
CSTP has been under the scanner after criticism by Guardian Vijay Wadettiwar minister over high pollution, which leads to various respiratory diseases among residents in Chandrapur City and its surroundings.
The Minister has ordered an investigation against pollution caused by Mega power plants and hence, three-day air quality exercises carried out by MPCB officials in factory places.
Monitoring exercises – questioned by environmental lovers for “wrong time” – done with the help of three air quality monitoring machines around which ended on August 25.
Two days after exercise, modern chimneys the latest 8 and 9 power plant units began to emit a black sunshine.
“How could a modern unit that has an emission standard of only 30 mg / nm3 emitting the amount of high black smoke,” asked Prof.
Yogeshwar Dudhpachare.
He said he filed a complaint about this high emission from CSTP with MPCB regional officials.
MPCB ​​Ashok Apart regional officers said he had received oral complaints from environmental lovers regarding high emissions from units 8 and 9 of CSTP.
He added that the Board asked CSTP officials about emissions and would serve the notification of performances to factory management, looking for their explanation.
