Grenade explosion near Pathankot Army Cantonment

Amritsar / Chandigarh: An explosion of grenade near the curse of the army in Pathankot on Sunday has encouraged the authorities to ring warnings in the district and along the international border with Pakistan.
There were no casualties reported in the explosion which took place in front of Dwar Triveni from the Cantt area, police official said on Monday.
“This is a terrorist activity.
CCTV recording is being analyzed,” said Pathankot SSP Surendra Lamba.
The forensic team has also collected sample explosives, he added.
Police officers said the grenade was probably thrown by some unknown people on a motorcycle as a guardian about the task of informing that it happened as soon as the bike passed around 9pm.
Deputy Deputy Minister of Punjab Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa held a meeting with senior police officers and issued a strict order to increase night patrols throughout the state.
Randhawa, who heads the department of the house, said it had arrived at the notice that adequate police patrols were not carried out at night and ordered that at least one third of the officers charged in every commissioner or district to patrol the list.
“I can randomly check the location of the task officer anytime by making a video call to the official in question,” he said.
The Main Secretary (Houses) of Anurag Verma has issued a letter to DGP, ADGP (Law and orders), Police Commissioner and SSP in this matter, ask them to follow the clue of deputy minister’s deputy head in true spirit.
Police Commissioner and SSP are also asked to send a copy of the list to ADGP (law and command), which will consolidate a list of all districts and send copies to Deputy Minister of Chief, Secretary of the House and DGP of 5pm every day.
Intelligence sources have not ruled out the possibility of anti-national elements who tried to damage the atmosphere in front of the election in Punjab.
Recently, there was also an increase in the number of incidents of Indian airspace violations by drones originating from Pakistani land.
