‘Gresnel’ to help Kerala Dark Web Patrol Cops

T’puram: The fifth edition of Hac’kp, International Online Police Hackathon competition that comes with the theme ‘Darkerstying Dark Web’ has produced a grapnel, a tool that will help the police monitor the mysterious world of the dark web.
The high cost of software available on the market for patrolling the dark web makes the police consider the possibility of building its own software, using the best mind participating in Hac’KP online from all over the world.
“Legraker has depended on the dark web for their illegal activities to avoid law enforcement agencies.
When we are looking for software to track dark web, this software is available in Israel and the US, but will cost us at a cost that is not affordable around Rs 20 Crore per year.
Unlike previous hackathons who are mainly competition among teams, this time we entered for a focused approach, to collectively build a single and solid solution to eliminate dark web conditions, “Adgp (headquarters) and officers responsible for Cyberdome Manoj Abraham.

Grupnel will equip the police about sophisticated dark web search, smart monitoring from the dark web and dissecting it for illegal transactions and criminal activities carried out using a dark web.
When keywords such as drugs, weapons, child sex abuse (CSAM), banking, terrorism, leaky database, etc., Entered, Grupnel crawl on the dark web to take the website hosted in it and register them.
Images and videos that have links with keywords will also be registered.
Also, there are options for advanced search where users can search using the date range such as conventional search engines like Google.
“Searching for keywords with the help of Grupnel produces a lot of information that is not available on the normal web.
This will help the police in cracking down on illegal activities done through the dark web,” said Manoj Abraham.
