Kanpur: Floods in villages along the Ganga edge not only creates problems for locals, but also has changed the scenario of wedding procession.
In another photo that becomes a viral on social media on Friday, the wedding procession can be seen leaving for the bride’s house on a boat due to flood water.
The wedding procession from one Zubair, a resident of Madhaiya Pankhian Village in the Tehsil Audit area, left for Shamsabad on Thursday afternoon on board.
The entire village of Zubair was surrounded by water after going up on the Ganges.
Zubair and his family members, along with ‘paratically’ have to take a boat to cross his village which is inundated to reach the path of the approach near the culverts in the Billawalpur, from where they go to Shamshabad in a separate vehicle.
He was accompanied by his mother Alima Begum, Sister Naseema, Khushnuma, Kazima and Bibi Rajbano and several other relatives.
Elder Brother Ghulam Mohammad and other villagers transport them to the path of approach.
Zafar, Zubair’s relatives, said that there were two ships and steamers in their families.
“The marriage of his cousin Zubair had to be saved with a fork, the daughter of Abre Hasan from Shamshabad on Thursday night.
They reached the road approach near the bilawalpur culverts on two ships and steamers, after that, they went to Shamshabad with buses and other vehicles.
Back, they again use the same boat and steamers, “Zafar said further.
To remember, just a few days ago the groom and other wedding party members had to take off their clothes to cross their village flooded and reached the path of the Hit-Farrukhabad flood.
Zubair, added, “We have planned a big wedding with covid-protocol.
The date has been fixed and we have completed all the preparations.
Usually, we have a large procession for marriage but, flood playing spoilsport.
However, we decided not to delay the date of marriage.” He said, even though he and ‘Baraatis’ missed all kinds of ‘masters’ like ‘band-baaja’, but a boat ride to the bride’s house would make this wedding impressive.
