Group C equipment in the U-19 World Cup was reworked after the arrival of Afghanistan was late

Dubai: The arrival of Afghanistan late to the Caribbean has forced the ICC to “rework” equipment in Group C for the 2022 U-19 World Cup, which will be held in West Indies from Friday.
“After successfully getting a visa needed for the trip, Afghanistan will arrive in West Indies and undergo the quarantine period needed,” ICC said in a statement.
Changes in the schedule approved by the Technical Committee of the event consisting of Chris Tetley, Head of the ICC event (seat); Ben Leaver, Senior ICC event manager; Fawwaz Baksh, director of the tournament; Roland holder, representative of WICB; Alan Wilkins and Russel Arnold.
“We are pleased that Afghan forces have received the necessary visas and will be able to travel to participate in the World Cup Cricket ICC U19 Male 2022,” Tetley said.
“We have reworked equipment for Group C to ensure that all matches can be carried out within the time frame allocated and want to thank the members who participate in their flexibility in finding solutions,” he added.
To ensure all equipment can be completed, four of the six Group C matches in Trinidad and Tobago have been rescheduled as follows: January 15 – Zimbabwe V PNG – Queens Park Oval.
Re-schedule from January 20.
January 17 – Pakistan V Zimbabwe – Diego Martin Sporting Complex.
Re-schedule from January 22.
January 18 – Afghanistan V PNG – Diego Martin Sporting Complex.
Do not change.
January 20 – Pakistan V Afghanistan – Brian Lara Cricket Ground.
Do not change.
January 22 – Pakistan V PNG – Queens Park Oval.
Re-schedule from January 15, January 22 – Afghanistan V Zimbabwe – Diego Martin Sporting Complex.
Rescheduled from January 16.
