Gandhinagar: The state government announced on Tuesday that it has decided to cancel the written test for the recruitment of head employees in the government department after leaking test paper.
State Minister Harsh Sanghavi said the repetition will be carried out in March.
Meanwhile, the Gandhinagar police on Monday night arrested Jayesh Patel, 39, allegedly accused the conspiracy behind the question paper leak.
The case of paper leakage will be tried in the fast trail field to “set an example”, Sanghavi told reporters in Gandhinagar after the meeting with the Minister of Chief Bhupendra Patel.
He said CM decided to cancel the exam for the sake of almost 88,000 candidates who took it.
“The new test will be carried out on March 202 in a more transparent way and use different methods.
All candidates who have filled out the form for the previous test will be considered eligible for the new exam,” Minister said.
So far, 14 people have been arrested from various parts of the country in connection with this case.
FIR about the leak was filed at the Prantij police station a week ago, under the Indian Criminal Code 420 (cheating), 409 (criminal violations of trust) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy), he said.
