Guwahati: Gauhati University on Monday canceled the third semester exam of all scholars scheduled to begin on July 23 after notification of the recent University Grants (UGC) commission.
The students will be promoted as in the previous semester according to the UGC guidelines.
Examination of the sixth semester undergraduate program will be held in the second part of August, online.
“60 percent syllabus will be borne in the final semester examination.
The right instructions will be issued soon to do a practical class,” said the test controller Gu DJ Choudhury.
On July 5, GU has notified that the semester-LLI exam will be held online tentatively from the last week of July.
Previously, the exam, scheduled to be held from May 28, was canceled because of the second wave of Covid.
The announcement of the medium semester exam came a few days after the release of the UGC guidelines on the exam and academic calendar for 2021-22.
In its guidelines, UGC, UGC said middle semester students must be promoted by internal evaluation and the previous semester sign.
“For the middle semester / student year, the assessment must be based on internal evaluation and the previous semester as suggested in 2020 guidelines,” said UGC has directed the University to conduct examinations for the last year or the end of the semester on August 31, Online, offline or mixed mode, Follow Covid-19 guidelines.
