Guards in most condos in Noida, Ghaziabad is not trained to handle unwanted situations: agency

Noida: Most housing communities in Noida and Ghaziabad have guards who are hardly not undergoing training for handling unwanted situations, officials of various security institutions have told TII.
These, they said, because most people do not want to spend a lot of things to hire leading security institutions and finally mobilize guards who are less practicing and rented mostly on the basis of reference.
Officials agreed that the recent incident in Lotus Boulevard in Noida, where a resident was attacked by a group of guards after the argument changed with violence, could be handled in a better way, they had been well trained.
Data originating from various institutions revealed that although Gautam Budh Nagar has around 150 private security institutions, there are only around 20 which provide professional training to their employees.
A senior police officer acknowledged that even though every Personal Guard needs to undergo training by a retired service under the Act of Act (Rules) Act, 2005, most security institutions limit to several lectures and indoor sessions.
“Plant training issues several times.
But the reality is that most resort communities to cut costs when it comes to hiring security agents,” said Sohrab Khan, a field officer with a prominent agent.
“Cheap agency means cheap labor.
And cheap labor means fewer experience, lack of training and education,” he added.
Agents that offer security at low levels usually employ guards for anything between Rs 10,000 and Rs 12,000 a month – on the contrary, a professional body pays Rs 14,000-15,000.
Most of the guards employed by these agents came from distant villages and small cities to make a living in NCR cities.
Employing largely occurs through reference.
And because there has been a construction boom over the past few years, getting a job guard is not difficult.
The guard who worked in a condo at Noida Sector 128 told Tii he was hired by his agency just because his brother worked there.
“There is almost no training.
Only a few lectures and sessions in the room,” he said.
Needless to say, these guards barely enjoy the benefits such as PF or benefits.
“The situation like the one in Lotus Boulevard is rare.
But when they do it, the guards need to be trained in handling them,” said Swati Aggarwal, a former AOA office carrier at the Grand Oonaxe Society.
Ghanshyam Jha, who owns the Arania Services Pvt Ltd in Ghaziabad, provides security guards to 22 housing communities throughout Delhi-NCR.
“On our agency, 100 hours of training must be provided for each guard before he is appointed.
We are looking for some quality in it, the most important thing is the ability to deal with the pressure situation and respond to provocation,” he said.
“They can work at the community gate or be given a patrol job.
But sometimes, our inability to assign certain jobs is wrong, which leads to incidents such as those in Noida recently,” Jha added.
“Someone took the work of the guard with coercion, not with a choice,” summarizing Rajbala, whose son Dinesh was one of the nine who was arrested in connection with the Boulevard Lotus incident.
Dinesh, who wants to pursue BA courses, takes the job of a security guard to fund his education, his family said.
