KENDRAPADA: The district government is set to begin guava farming on 500 acres of property in a village beneath the mineral-rich Sukinda block at Jajpur district.
The initiative, that was consumed under the District Mineral Fund (DMF) to a pilot basis, intends to offer a source of livelihood to the villagers.
Sukinda MLA Pritiranjan Ghadei on Monday set the basis to the job by planting a tree in a job at Damodarpur at the presence of officials.
“The property identified for its objective is located at Damodarpur village close to the district horticulture office.
Approximately 22 forms of 2 lakh guava saplings will have increased there shortly.
We’ll spend about Rs10 crore from the Rs 1,170 crore DMF for your undertaking.
The agro-climatic states of the scenic terrain of Sukinda allow it to be conducive to guava farming,” Kumar Subhashis, also the group leader of DMF at Jajpur, stated.
