Coimbatore: The original resident of Chhattisgarh was arrested for attacking the police attached to the Special Police of Tamil Nadu in Pirivu Kovaipur on Sunday night.
The person arrested was identified as S Ravikumar, 22, from the Rajnandgaon district, a construction worker.
He lives with other construction workers in the warehouse in Kovaipudur Pirivu.
On Sunday night, Ravikumar, who was drunk, visited the nearest hotel to buy food.
Meanwhile, Connectable Arumugam, 35, got there.
When the hotel employee handed the food package to the police, Ravikumar, waiting there for turn, took a fight with Arumugam.
“Ravikumar attacked the police using a knife.
Arumugam suffered an injury in his right hand and his lower jaw.
He caught Ravikumar and told Kuniyamuthur police.
A police team took him to the station,” said a police officer.
Based on complaints of Arumugam, Kuniyamuth Sub-Inspector Ganesh registered a case against the Ravikumar under it section 332 (voluntarily caused the wound to prevent public servants from his duties), 324 (voluntarily caused injured by dangerous weapons or arminals) and 506 (II) (II) ) (criminal intimidation)) from the Indian punishment code.
He was returned in judicial custody.
