Coimbatore: A native of 39-year-old Bihar was killed in an accident in a steel manufacturing unit in Lakshminakenpalayam on tendrils on Saturday.
Part of the roof of the manufacturing unit fell on Navsath Ansari at around 11 in the morning, killing him in place.
Some employees suffered injuries and hospitalized.
“This unit has a cement sheet roof.
The iron rod carrying a rusty roof and bankrupt because of strong winds, causing the accident,” said a police officer.
The police team from Sulthanpettai station reached the place and shifted the body to the nearest hospital for autopsy.
