Saligao: Taking awareness of the round in Guirim, Chairman of the Minister of Pramod Sawant on Thursday examined the area along with officials and said that short-term and long-term steps would be taken to resolve the problem.
He was accompanied by Mlaas Glenn Ticlo (Aldona), Jayesh Salgaonkar (Saligao) and Joshua d’Souza (Mapusa), members of Zilla Panchayat, Sarpanchs from neighboring villages, senior officer PWD, WRD and Agriculture.
“There is nothing wrong to say that some man-made problems,” said the ministerial head after seeing both sides of the highway flooded.
As a short-term size, Sawant said that he had instructed PWD and WRD to remove waterways.
He said that there were many factors for flooding, including mud disposal and debris by the contractor who carried out the work of highway expansion, filling in land by several people around him, in addition to heavy rains and tidal effects.
