Ahmedabad: Of the 18,500 strange villages in Gujarat, around 16,000 or 86 percent have reached 100 percent coverage of vaccination from a qualified population (over 18 years), said Minister of Health Rishikesh Patel.
He spoke with the media in Gandhinagar on Wednesday.
He added that from eight city corporations, five had reached 100 percent coverage.
Cities with 100 percent coverage including letters, Rajkot, Gandhinagar, Junagadh, and Bhavnagar.
Ahmedabad has reached 97 percent coverage and Vadodara, 99 percent.
Overall, with 4.49 doses of crore vaccination from a population that qualified 4.93 crore, the state has around 91 percent of the population that meets the requirements of vaccinated with at least one dose.
“The population of 16,109 from nearly 18,500 villages has taken the first dose of vaccine so far,” Patel said.
“Junagadh, Ahmedabad, Tami, and Mahisagar Regency have also reached 100 percent coverage of the first dose until now.” Nearly 4.50 crore people have received the first dose so far, while 2.71 crore also took the second dose, the Minister said.
“Overall, the Gujarat government has provided more than 7.20 doses of crore vaccines since the start of the national vaccination encouragement against Coronavirus on January 16,” Patel said.
