Ahmedabad: The second covid wave leaves the destroyed Gujarat.
As many as 5,314 deaths were recorded in 61 days April and May, according to government records.
This is the average 87 death crying every day or almost one death every 15 minutes! What causes high death like that? It turns out that around 30% of patients, the majority of them are under 60 years, have ‘hidden’ health conditions that are not mentioned in their medical records.
But diseases ranging from ischemic heart problems to TB and bronchitis appear during clinical autopsy.
Dr.
Kalpesh Shah, Professor and Head of the Forensic Drug Department at BR J Medical College, said that the autopsy of 31 covid patients who died was carried out by experts.
Dr Harish Khubchandani and Dr.
Deepak Vora analyzed data including medical history and biological markers and internal organ conditions with focusing on the heart, lungs, and blood vessels.
Of the total, 67% above 60 years and 33% below 60 years.
The lowest care period for the deceased is 2 hours, while the longest is around 13 days and 18 hours.
“Comorbidity is found dominantly present in patients who die – the majority (87%) have one or more comorbidity including hypertension, diabetes, heart problems, etc.
While only 13% do not have the underlying health condition,” Dr.
Khubchandani said.
“But more importantly, around 30% or about patients with patients do not know that their heart or lungs do not function properly or may ignore signs.
It can be proven to be fatal.” About 76% of patients reported the lungs’ hard ‘, While around 70% of the times have an increase in the weight of the lungs around 2-3 times.
Dr.
Vora said that it would have felt like a stone in the chest that might cause shortness of severe breath.
“The lungs are also found to have micro thrombosis, with capillaries in the lungs affected.
Some patients also suffered alveolar damage that spread (father) caused severe respiratory pressure,” he said.
