Bharuch: Four people were arrested in Gujarat on Wednesday for allegedly being part of the racket involved illegally changed Islam, at least 100 villagers in Amod Taluka from Bharuch funds using foreign funds for years, police said.
Police said Delhi residents Mohammad Umar Gautam, who were arrested on charges of mass repentance, and his aide Salamdin Shaikh, who came from Vadodara, touched by the main allegations of Abdulla Fefdawala, native residents of Nabipur Bharuch who currently live in London.
Gautam and Shaikh are currently nesting in Vadodara prison.
Of the total nine people against whom a FIR was registered by the Bharuch District Police on November 15, Four was arrested on Wednesday, said Deputy Front Bhojani Bharuch.
The FIR was registered with nine people under the Law of the Freedom of Religion (Amendments) Gujarat together with Section 120 B (criminal conspiracy), 153 (b) (c) (ACT is likely to cause to use) and 506 (2) (criminal intimidation) From India’s Criminal Code for allegedly attracting tribes in Kankaria village in Amod Taluka to embrace Islam by offering money and other chisels.
The defendant who was arrested was identified as Abdul Aziz Patel, Yusuf Patel, Aiyub Patel and Ibrahim Patel, all the residents of Kankaria Village.
The main defendant, Abdulla Fefdawal visited Bharuch several times in the past, said Bhojani.
“Using foreign funds collected and sent by FEFDAwala, the cheat local accuser converts almost 100 Hindu Vasava to Islam.
This racket has been going on for the past 15 years.
People accused of attracting bad tribes by offering money, food, work , work, clothing and education, “said Bhojani.
Meanwhile, Vadodara police have told their partner Bharuch that Umar Gautam and Salauddin Shaikh, Management of Guardian AFMI Charital-based trustees based in Vadodara, also involved in this conversion racet operated in Bharuch using foreign funds.
Gautam was held by anti-terrorist forces (ATS) in June with cheat charges that turned people to become Islam.
Then, at ATS captured the Gautam Aide Shaikh of Vadodara for his involvement in diverting AFMI’s trust funds for conversion and to provide legal assistance to anti-CAA protesters and those who were arrested in Delhi’s communal riots.
Last month, Vadodara police, investigated the alleged abuse of foreign funds, took the second custody accused of ATS and took them here.
They are currently in court detention.
The investigation by the crime of Vadodara City has revealed that Fefdawala has sent Hospital 80 Crore to Shaikh through the FCRA and Hawala channels as part of a conspiracy, said Crime Branch in the release issued on Wednesday.
Shaikh has used this money to fund the construction of mosques in the border area (from Gujarat), turning people to become Islam in Gujarat and in other parts of the country and fund anti-CAA protests.
Part of this fund was also used to provide legal assistance to the rioters held by Delhi police after protests, their release.
“We have also learned that funds are also used to convert nearly 100 amod tribes under well-planned conspiracy,” said the Assistant Commissioner Police, Vadodara City Crime Branch, DS Chauhan.
It was also revealed that Fefdawala, Shaikh and Gautam had visited Bharuch and held several times in the past.
Shaikh has sent Rs 27 Lakh through Hawala to his connection in Bharuch and neighboring districts as part of a conspiracy, Chauhan said.
“We learned that Shaikh visited nearly 1,000 places in the Bharuch district in one year while Gautam visited Bharuch 18 to 19 times to hold a secret meeting.
We have shared this information with Bharuch police for further investigation,” Chauhan added.
