Ahmedabad: In the midst of an increase in some cases in several Indian states, Gujarat on Friday announced that travelers from other states including those from Kerala and Maharashtra would be checked at the entry point and only those who would not enter.
Nitin Patel, Deputy CM and Minister of Health, said that Gujarat currently has a very low prevalence of pandemics.
“In such a scenario, the decision has been taken to filter out passengers from other states who entered Gujarat to prevent further surge,” he said.
The State Health Department official said that while there was no clarity of RT-PCR status, passengers would be screened for temperature and would be asked with their vaccination status.
“However, further orders are waiting for,” said an official.
Gujarat in 24 hours ends at 5 pm on Friday add 13 new Covid-19 cases – one of the lowest since the start of the Pandemic – and record 14 patients, reduce the active case one.
The active case in Gujarat is now in 155, while the active case in Ahmedabad Regency is in 37.
New cases in the country include 4 from the city of Ahmedabad, each of the city of Vadodara, Dahod and Kutch, and 1 of each of Junagadh and 1 city letter and the Vadodara district.
Urban areas contribute 61.5% of cases.
The letter district recorded the death of a patient, took the dead to 10,081.
