Guj: college, 12th grade at school to reopen from July 15

Ahmedabad: With the number of Daily Covid-19 cases left below 100 in Gujarat for the past few weeks, schools and colleges are now set to reopen for class in-people from July 15.
At the core committee meeting chaired by the chairman of Minister Vijay Rupani, a decision had been taken to enable 12th grade students in schools and colleges throughout the state of July 15 with classes owned by only 50% of the total strength of students, said government sources States.
Attendance will not be compulsory and school, universities must take permission from parents in writing because they allow their children to attend classes, the source added.
Bharat Gajipara, President of the Gujya Rajya School Management Association, while welcoming the government’s decision, said it should not be limited to 12th grade students.
“When the government has allowed training classified to reopen for grade 9 to 12th, why did a similar decision not be taken to reopen the school?” Gajipara asked.
Others were present at the core committee meeting including education minister Bhupindersinh Chudasama, Head of the Anil Mukim Secretary, Secretary of the Additional Head for the Department of Pankaj Kumar House, Primary Secretary for Education S J Haider, Secretary of Education Secretary of Vinod Rao.
“The Gujarat government’s decision to start in-classes in schools for class 12 students is an encouraging sign that returns to normal.
We are ready to welcome students with approval from their parents and Covid safety protocols.
