Ahmedabad: IMD on Sunday predicted strong weather and strong winds from Gujarat Beach along with heavy rain in several parts of the country until July 14, and suggested fishermen not explore the Arabian sea.
Ahmedabad Center of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) also estimates high sea waves in the range of 2.5-3.6 meters for the next two days along North Gujarat Beach between Jakhau and Diu.
“Weather squeal with wind speeds reaches 45-55 KMPH Embung to 65 kmps very likely along and on North and South Gujarat Beach and above the North Arab Sea from 11-14 July,” Met office said.
“The fishermen are advised not to explore and outside the coast of North and South Gujarat and in the northwestern Arabian sea from 11-14 July,” he said.
In his latest bulletin, the meeting department also said many places in Gujarat, including the Saurashtra-Kutch area, and Union Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu will receive minor rainfall to moderate between 11 and July 14.
Some of the southern part Gujarat also tends to receive very heavy rainfall, he said.
According to the IMD, Gujarat has received 48 percent less than the average rainfall so far during the current rainy season.
