Vadodara: Inspector of the Panigati Police Station has been requested by the Gujarat High Court to provide an explanation and submit a report in connection with the attack on citizens from the police station during last year’s locking.
HC has asked the police to send reports during the next hearing on November 13 with an explanation of why the probe about the incident was not transferred to a CD (crime).
The transfer application was filed in HC because there was no development in the investigation carried out by the police station.
Nehal Gohil, son of Radha Gohil, a nurse who worked in a private hospital, allegedly beaten by ASI Ravjibhai Sanabhai on April 9 last year.
Nehal has been out of the house to help her mother in the hospital.
After the incident, a complaint was given to the panigati of the police station, but there was no violation registered.
“There were specific charges against the police, but police officials did nothing.
Our argument was because the police came from the same police station where complaints were given, officials tried to protect him,” said Nehal’s lawyer, Nisarg Jain.
He added that because there was no progress in the transfer application investigation submitted to let CID (crime) take over the probe.
