Gandhinagar: Pankaj Kumar, Senior-IAS official in the state after the head of the Anil secretary of Mukim, has been named the Secretary of the Head of the next Gujarat.
The 1986 batch officer, Pankaj Kumar, will be responsible for the top post in the state bureaucracy after the Superannuation of Anil Mukim on August 31.
The State General Administration Department issued Kumar’s appointment order on Friday.
Kumar serves as an additional secretary (ACS) of the home-based department, before he spends a lot of time as AC from the income department.
Kumar also served as Secretary CM while Narendra Modi was Minister of Gujarat.
Known because the proactive approach to governance, Kumar led a series of reforms during his long working period as ACS income.
He has extensive experience in departments such as income, home, health and family welfare in various capacities.
He also served in State PSUS such as Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB), Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation, etc.
He worked as a collector and DDO in several districts too.
Kumar also assigned the task of leading the state government in adopting a digital government.
Posted for more than four years in the Revenue Department, Kumar has built relationships with all collectors and DDO and know the problem of all districts in depth.
Kumar was given direct responsibility for the health and well-being of the state after the plague of the Covid-19 pandemic and played a key role in increasing health infrastructure quickly to meet the pandemic challenges.
Although the Superannuatasi Pankaj Kumar was due in May 2022, like his predecessor Anil Mukim, he also tended to get a one-year extension because the country would face assembly elections in December 2022.
Kumar after his appointment said, “I thank PM and CM to give their trust On my ability.
Through my career, the government has given me the best opportunity to serve Gujarat people.
Gujarat is known for its development-oriented government.
My top priority is to further accelerate the development process initiated by PM Narendra Modi and CM Vijay Rupani.
