AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat government on Wednesday said that it was made a decision to cancel the board examinations for Class 12 ordinary pupils of the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB).
On Tuesday, the Class 12 board examinations such as Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) pupils were cancelled.
In terms of Gujarat’s conclusion, it had been shot at the country cabinet meeting on Wednesday, say education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama declared.
A determination on whether to run the examinations for Class 10 and Class 12 repeater pupils will be obtained soon, the ministry stated.
The decision was taken keeping in mind the bigger interest of 6.83 lakh Course 12 students that are expected to take the examinations.
Of those pupils, 1,40,000 are from the science stream and 5,43,000 from the overall flow.
“From the larger interest of this nation’s pupils, the authorities of Gujarat, under the leadership of main minster Vijay Rupani, has chosen to offset the Class 12 board examinations of GSHSEB,” Chudasama stated in a press statement.
“The following upcoming steps about the assessments of the board is going to be taken from the state authorities consistent with the instructions of the government.” On Tuesday afternoon, the GSHSEB had declared the dates for Class 12 board assessments.
They were to occur from July 1 to July 16.
Shortly following the central government decided Tuesday to cancel the Course 12 CBSE board examinations, the Gujarat administration stated it would reevaluate its choice.
The state government had previously declared the cancellation of Class 10 board examinations for regular pupils.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday reported the decision on Course 12 CBSE examinations was taken from the larger interest of pupils.
The PM said that Covid-19 has influenced the academic calendar and also the dilemma of board examinations was causing massive anxiety in parents, students, and educators, which has to be placed to a conclusion.
The PM stated that pupils shouldn’t be made to take the examinations in this stressful circumstance.
