Guj: Post 1947, growth only benefits a few, said PM Modi

Ahmedabad: In a covert attack on Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that post-independence, new construction only took place for “some families of Delhi”, but the government brought this country from this “narrow” mindset and “narrow” and is building a new new national monument while adding glory to existing.
Without mentioning anyone, PM’s comments seemed to be aimed at the Nehru-Gandhi family.
He spoke after virtually inaugurating the house of a new circuit was built near the famous Somnath Temple in the Gir Somnath Gujarat district, where he also said that the development of religious and cultural centers gave encouragement for the local economy.
He added cleanliness, the creation of facilities, ensuring that tourists were saved and having a modern mindset were the four things needed for the development of tourism.
“Our ancestors have left many things (in the form of religious and cultural heritage) for us, but there are doubts in talking about the religious and cultural heritage of our rich,” Modi, who is also the chairman of Somnath’s temple trust, said.
“After independence, new construction took place for several families from Delhi.
We have brought the country from this narrow thought.
We are building a new national monument and adding glory to the existing,” Modi said.
“It is our government who built the warning from Babasaheb Amedkar in Delhi.
We built the Memorial APJ Abdul Kalam in Rameshwaram.
In the same way, places related to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Shyamji Krishna Verma are made more noble by our government.
Building a museum to highlight our tribal population inheritance, “said Modi, added that such a warning would not only help in tourism growth, but also made us bond with our identity.
Talking about Somnath’s temple, Modi said that after he became a member of his belief, he had seen many initiatives taken for the development of the city, and the new circuit house was one of them.
“The history of the Somnath Temple is a great message for us and everyone must learn how even though it is destroyed several times appearing again every time, and how under the Sardar Patel (Minister of Home First) was reconstructed,” The Prime Minister said.
Referring to the government’s move to develop religious and cultural centers, Modi said that the development of such places would provide encouragement for the regional economy they have.
He said that he was surprised to know the type of income of several countries that earn through tourism.
“For tourism development, we need four things.
Cleanliness is the first and important thing, which has been treated by the Mission of Swachh Bharat.
Facilities at tourist sites are very important to attract a large number of footsteps.
Tourists want to visit many places in a short time, so don’t throw away Their time and therefore provide better connectivity is also important, “Modi said.
The fourth thing is that we must increase our mindset and make it innovative and modern to attract tourists, he added.
“Even though we must be modern, we should not forget our inheritance and roots, and show it properly to the world,” Modi said.
